Usually the Golden Rock Pagoda in Kyaiktiyo is set in bright sunlight. During my visit however there was fog, there was rain, and there were a few monks appearing and disappearing in the foggy.
Kyaiktiyo is east from Rangoon, on the road to Thailand. The Golden Rock Pagoda is high on a hill in a thick tropical jungle. It is one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Burma (Myanmar).
