Sitting on a camel in the late afternoon in the Moroccan Sahara. What an experience.
The Moroccan Sahara is a great piece of nature. Starting accross the Atlas Mountains the area gets drier and drier. I visited the area south from Zagora, an oasis along the Draa River, less than 100 km from the Algerian border. South from Zagora is Ouled Driss, a small village on the edge of Erg Lihoudi, a vast dune desert nested in between mountain ranges. Ouled Driss, with its clay houses is a sort of modern caravanserai, the starting point of camel-caravan tours towards the dunes.
