The High Line Elevated Park is the best new New York City place for a picknick.
The High Line Park is on the tracks of a former elevated railway track and runs roughly from the 13th to the 20th street following more or less 10th Avenue. My first visit was just a few weeks after the opening. On a summers day the park is filled with people enjoying the sun, having luch, walking accross the plants and railway track remains. While the park is narrow it winds itself in between Chelsea low- and highrise.
