Held by the branches of a large tree this head of Buddha is symbol of the spirit of Ayutthaya.
The Wat Phra Mahahat is one of the temple ruines within the Ayutthaya Historic Park. The city of Ayutthaya between 1350 and 1767 was the capital of the kingdom of Ayutthaya. Since 1991 the Historic Park is a Unesco World Heritage site.
